About
30 Second Life began at a game jam for CMU’s Game Creation Society sometime around 2010. It ended up being the game I made with the most crowd appeal and sticking power, so I expanded and ported the game to iOS back in 2011. I happened to get exceptionally lucky with the timing of that release, just as many new gamers were getting onto iOS, but before the market was as crowded as it is today. After a bit of good publicity, 30 Second Life ended up with over a quarter million downloads (mostly free downloads). After a period of the app languishing, I revisited it in 2015 and re-released it as 30 Second Life: Redux, including a streamlined interface, new content, and a set of female sprites to match every male sprite. After a further period of languishing, I’ve gone back and updated the game to get it running on all the platforms, as well as made a few small tweaks here and there.
